Dirty talk: Why you may not need to wash your jeans

Here’s a New Year’s Resolution: give up washing your jeans for months at a time.

Even if you wear them five days a week, no one will ever know, according to an interesting study out of Australia.

For her Master’s thesis, Melbourne University student Tullia Jack found 30 volunteers who agreed to wear their jeans at least five days a week for three months, reports Adelaide Now. (One zealous participant, concerned that his pants weren’t getting dirty enough, even went running in them and slept in them at night.) Half of the participants reported not wanting to wear their jeans at about the six-week mark. But the other half wanted to keep wearing them unwashed even after the experiment was over, says Ms Jack.

In the end, the three-month-wear jean didn’t stink, and they didn’t even look all that dirty, aside from odd stain of tuna or motor oil. “They just smell like people,” Ms. Jack explained in a video interview. When she consulted a scientist about the lack of odour, she says, it was suggested that the “bacteria reached a peak population” and then stopped growing.

The concept of the experiment was to explore social norms around cleanliness and washing, so Ms. Jack was anticipating some smelly jeans by the end of it.

Instead, she says, the study showed that, to save the environment, people should be washing their jeans - and clothes in general - a lot less. “When you take something off, air it out,” she says, or spot clean a stain.

According to a page on Facebook, “Wearing the same jeans everyday,” there are a few people already trying this experiment at home. (Judging from a couple of the comments, it appears to end most often when some well-meaning (i.e. grossed-out) adult relative tosses the jeans in the wash.)

What’s the longest you’ve ever gone without washing a pair of jeans? Think anyone notices?

Caroline Flack is face of Apricot’s denim range

British TV presenter Caroline Louise Flack, who has co-presented the eighth series of ‘The Xtra Factor’, is the face of Apricot’s new Transformer range of denim.
Caroline is best known for presenting ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Now!’ from 2008 to 2010.
Apricot’s new innovative range of jeans comes in Skinny, Bootcut and Skinny Flare styles, which are especially designed to flatter and flaunt natural curves of the legs. All styles are made from ultra-stretch fabrics that take the shape of the legs as soon as they are worn.
Each of the three styles is available in three fits – Peachy, Electric and Juicy – designed to suit different body shapes. Peachy Fit is low cut at the top, Electric Fit is still lower, while Juicy Fit has slightly higher cut.
These different styles and fits will help shoppers to ‘mix and match’ and find out the jeans that look good on them.

Vicunha’s denim shirt is fashions’ newest wildcard!

Denim shirts are back for good, and Vicunha has incredible articles to meet this demand. Denim shirt have vanished after the 90’s, and recently triumphantly returned to fashion as wildcards, since today jeans are the new black. With a laid-back appearance, the jeans shirt saves productions and offer a more modern and hipster tuned-in look.

Jeans, after all, are super-democratic materials, and it is almost impossible to find anyone in the Western world who does not have at least one denim item, but these dungarees usually include a pair of trousers, shorts or bermudas

But the denim shirts are back to stay, and are about to become definitively a must-have item for any wardrobe.

People fascinated by the dark and occult have for many years been drawn to Hell in Trøndelag. On Thursday 3 March the place will really be hell on earth when Anti Sweden launches "Fashion Week In Hell" to present their unique new Textile  Garment collection.

Calico Cooper who is central in her legendary father, Alice Coopers, show of sex, flames and rock and roll, is going to Hell in Norway to front Anti Sweden Jeans collection.
