Back to some old school r and b today. This is These Arms of Mine from the late, great Otis Redding. He died in a plane crash far too young. The music he put out during his short time with Staxx Records is nothing short of incredible. Staxx was known as the anti-Motown at that time. While Motown was considered watered down r and b in order to appeal to a wider audience, Staxx Records recordings were sexy, dirty, gritty. Otis was their star at that time.
