Erotic Movie of the Week - 9 Songs

I think I'm going to start a new feature this week. This week's erotic movie of the week is 9 Songs. This 2004 Michael Winterbottom directed movie was shown at both the Sundance Film Festival and Toronto Film Festival and stars Kieran O'Brien and Margo Stilley. Here's the plot, as described on the Wikipedia page.
"The film tells the modern love story set over a period of 12 months in London, England of a young couple: Matt, a British climatologist, and Lisa, an American exchange student. The story is framed in a personal review from Matt's perspective when he is working in Antarctica. Their main common interest is a passion for live music and they frequently attend rock concerts together; the film depicts the couple, or Matt alone, watching nine songs at Brixton Academy and other concert venues. It also shows their weekend getaway into the countryside, and their travels around London. Lisa brings their short and intense relationship to an end at Christmas time when she returns home to the United States."
That's about as much plot as you really need to get through, since the plot seems to be built around showing the 9 rock bands performances that are shown in the movie (hence the title 9 Songs) and the soft hardcore porn. As long as you know all of that going in, you'll enjoy the movie. In short, it's an art house porno but the sex scenes are hot, since they're real and leave nothing to the imagination.

Here's the trailer for the movie, which is proof yet again that the trailers are better and more interesting than the actual movie. The movie itself is on Netflix's instant stream.

As an added bonus, here's one of the sex scenes from the movie.

Katie Holmes at The Sundance Film Festival!

IMTA alum Katie Holmes will be premiering her newest movie The Son Of No One tonight at the Sundance Film Festival. According to Film Industry Network: "The Sundance Film Festival is a place that celebrates independent filmmaking, which was originally set up by Robert Redford. The actor has created one of the most iconic institutions for film in the US since its inception, and now it carries international weight like never before. Katie Holmes' ‘The Son Of No One’ will get its premiere at the festival and Spike Lee produced ‘Pariah’ amongst a whole host of other movies."

Katie competed at IMTA twice, in 1993 and 1995. She returned to present awards at IMTA and debuted the first 15 minutes of the pilot episode of Dawson's Creek. The entire ballroom was riveted by this ground-breaking stylish teen drama and Katie received thunderous applause! On that special night, she gave us a very nice interview saying:
"Let's just say a girl from Toledo, Ohio wouldn't end up in a Hollywood movie if it weren't for the IMTA!"
