Italy size down to 25; 7 players are out


Cesare Prandelli cut another 7 players from the quad, bringing the number to 25, which by tomorrow another 2 players must also be axed. The deadline for the submission of the squad is Tuesday at noon. Criscito was one of the 7 players who was axed; Criscito being one of those players being investigated for match fixing. The other 6 players are Schelotto, Verratti, Viviano, Bocchetti, Astori, and Cigarini. From the 25 players remaining only 3 players play outside Italy, who are Sirigu, Motta and the controversial Balotelli.
