Preparations for Euro 2012

This week served as an analysis of the current situation of certain nations as several countries opted to play a friendly match. Reactions varied from cheerfulness to bitter disappointment, with the latter being a wake-up call to the under-performed nation.

Spain 2 - 0 Serbia
Spanish fans had a big smile on their lips after a 2-0 victory over Serbia, in which quite a few star players did not participate in the match. Five players made there debut in this match, but Adrian had a day to remember as he slotted home the first goal of the game but also his first goal for Spain in his first match!

Norway 0 - 1 England
Relief  was evident on Roy Hodgson's face as his first match as England coach went in his favour, with Ashley Young coming to the rescue. In an interview he stated he was concerned about the fatigue of some players since they had to train hard, but evidently it has paid off.

Switzerland 5 - 3 Germany
Joy for the home side, disappointment for the away side, a spectacle for the neutrals. The German side was stunned by the Swiss' impressive level of football, after they exploited rare mistakes from the German defence. Even though the majority of prominent stars were rested, the result still leaves concerns regarding Germany's level of preparation for the upcoming prestigious tournament.
