More news from Chelsea: Cech signs new deal

Cech made his intention clear of where he wants to play for the years to come by signing a new 4-year old deal with the new European Champions. Petr Cech has been with Chelsea since 2004, and will stay until 2006, and up till now his total appearances with Chelsea are 369. Cech, who is 30, said that he is happy at Chelsea and believes in the team's visions. He hopes that the next years will be successful as much as these fears were for him. Cech was always a key keeper for Chelsea. With Cech, Chelsea won the Champions League, 3 Premier Leagues and 5 other trophies (3 FA Cup and 2 Carling Cup).

Executives of Chelsea expressed there happiness for the keeper's signature, as they believe that Cech is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The performance in the Champions League was an example of how much Cech can still contribute to Chelsea. However Cech successor could be Courtois, as the loan spell at Atletico Madrid showed that even though he's still 20, he can be a world class goal stopper. Courtois can be loaned to somewhere else this year to help him gain more experience.
